HiJeromeC wrote: Mon Jul 20, 2026 5:12 pm Seb answered me and I now have a clear understanding of the problem, and it's not as simple as it looks.
Empty team stats in this Milkyway sprint are not due to "temporary problem of Milky server" but the webRPC API (standard documented boinc) that Seb is using to fetch the team stats, that should be "open to the public", has been "closed" and requires an authentication (some account), it's not open to the public anymore.
The webRPC API used to fetch individual stats is still open, this is why we have individual stats in the sprint.
The marathon stats are fetched with a different method, reading xml files that are generated by the project into a specific public folder on the project server: these stats are not frequently updated and are not suitable for a sprint.
So until the Milkyway admin solves this problem (the webRPC API for team stats should be public), if he does, we won't be able to have sprint for Milkyway anymore...
Thanks so much for this.
I did email Sebastien about this problem last Friday, when I noticed that the Team League tables were not showing any results.
He replied to me on Sunday with a more basic explanation for the problem (compared to your comments above).
However, on the FB admin side, Team data HAS been collected (in the FB server log files) but I am unsure if it is collected by the XML files import or by another method.
And I collected this data on Friday 17th as well as yesterday (22nd) and I saved it as 2 XLSX files, showing the credit increments for all the Teams and Users that were active on those dates. These files were sent to Sebastien so he can at least use them to populate the Team League tables, (if he chooses to do so !). And at least then we have something to provide to FB Teams to show their participation.
Yes, I'll contact the MW admin and see what they can do - they already increased the frequency of exporting stats over the period (which might be a long term change).JeromeC wrote: Mon Jul 20, 2026 5:12 pm Timbo : you have a contact with that admin already, can you please forward him this ? I'm not sure if he is exactly aware of the situation.
regards and thanks

Hi Tim,
I didn't see any results in the user statistics again.Mikyway@Home
Something's wrong. I finished over 220 tasks starting Friday afternoon, but it's not showing up in the statistics.
Oh well, I did participate for the team.
Let's see what happens next sprint...
Cheers,
Thor54

Thanks for the message.
I've checked the FB log files and it appears that your userid (8015151) does NOT appear in the stats.
So, it could be that MilkyWay project is NOT exporting your specific stats. So, they cannot be obtained to be included.
Most BOINC projects have the ability for each user to INCLUDE or EXCLUDE their stats, using the "Preferences for this project" in your account settings.
But I checked my own MilkyWay account and the setting to adjust the following:
is not there !!Do you consent to exporting your data to BOINC statistics aggregation Web sites?
I will PM you a link to the MW admin and maybe he can advise you why your stats are not being exported?

Re: FB Sprint 2026 Notifications
Hi all
The selected project admin has just confirmed that they are ready and able to support the next Sprint that runs from:
26-07-23 @ 1600 UTC to 26-07-26 @ 1600 UTC
This is the LAST Sprint before the promotion/relegation changes will be made to the Team and Member League Tables.
So, this is your best chance to boost your Team and/or Member standings in the FB League Tables.
After the changes are made, the next Sprint will take place:
2026-08-20 16:00 UTC - 2026-08-23 16:00 UTC
regards
Tim

Re: FB Sprint 2026 Notifications
Thanks Tim,
No problem with the stats this time!
Good luck with the relegations & promotions: It sounds like a much bigger rejig than the typical football, top two go up & bottom two go down, sort of scenario. Do you have an estimate of when the job will be complete?

Re: FB Sprint 2026 Notifications
Hiya
Yup, there seems to have been an issue collecting the MilkyWay Team stats, although I'm hopeful a workaround can take place.
It's not much of a "rejig" - but it does rely on a large spreadsheet populated with the Team and Member Sprint stats since the start in March 2026.megacruncher wrote: Thu Jul 23, 2026 10:26 pm Good luck with the relegations & promotions: It sounds like a much bigger rejig than the typical football, top two go up & bottom two go down, sort of scenario. And then a few calculations, and a subjective assessment of all the individual elements will then indicate which Team(s) and Member(s) should be moved into different Leagues. And it's fair to say that some of the "big hitters" will be promoted, if their average BOINC credit totals are commensurate with others in a higher League. While the "low ballers" may drop down a League or two !!
All I can say as far as the estimate is concerned, is that it will happen in early August, as I have to work on a higher priority right now, which is to sort out my end of quarter company accounts (in order to keep HM Treasury off my back).
regards
Tim
