Hi all
The selected project admin confirmed that all is ready for the next Sprint:
26-07-02 @ 1500 UTC to 26-07-05 @ 1500 UTC
Hopefully, all will be well and this Sprint will continue with the good fortune we have experienced with other recent Sprints.
Note: There are TWO more Sprints after this one, and then the League tables will be updated so, if you want to ensure your upward path, it makes sense to earn as many BOINC credits in the Sprints as you can !
regards
Tim

Hiya
1st option:
errrr...I guess so

You just have to monitor how many BOINC credits are being earned by all the other members in the same League as you...and then make sure that you earn
less than them. Do this for the entire "first" half of the Sprint "season".
Then you would be dropped down into League 3 (or even League 4), depending on your average BOINC credits earned per Sprint.
Then for the second half of the season, crunch as much as possible so you will be top of the League that you've been demoted to.
But be careful, as for the following year, you'll then be promoted back up again....
2nd option:
A nice "bribe" payment is possible

- I can think of a few possible methods: payment to my Swiss bank account? 5 years of free access to a multi-CPU cloud-based server that can run BOINC? the keys to a brand new Ferrari? an open account at a top restaurant? a hot week or two in pattaya?

Tim

Hi, I'm listed on the user list for League 4.
I was part of primeGride, but I can't find myself anywhere today.

crunch for someone else
ask a fellow team member for a weak key, or use a combined 'cluster' team account if any available
I know it may be a joke, but I know as well how to struggle in League 1 but easy and regular Top 3 in L2 I don't want either
being out of Top 10 is a strong motivation to upgrade hardware, to optimize setup and tactics and to stop playing games during sprints

Hi
This is of course a method that some Teams employed in the past (and maybe even do it now?).
eg:
https://www.formulaboinc.org/index.py?r ... 20cc4e9977
and here:
https://www.formulaboinc.org/index.py?r ... 7433df56f7
So, you do not earn any personal Membership points, but you are contributing to a Team (which may be your own team or another team).

Indeed, if you want to do better (for your own personal account, either to increase your total BOINC credits and/or to earn more FB points), then one option is invest in new hardware, by either buying a new host or by "renting" computing time in the cloud, which i think some FB members do.

I've never used the cloud but with hardware prices going through the roof, buying new hardware is getting hard to justify

I agree with you regarding the new hardware purchase. I invested in an EPYC GENOA (96/192) and corresponding DDR5 RAM at just the right time. It's now in use and racking up a lot of credits. Unfortunately, I'll have to wait before I can upgrade the RAM any further.
