it would be better to block Asteroids for Sprint,

my best Card, the 4090 runs every ~2 hours out of work and the retry time incrases to 2 hours or more.
The huge number of faulty Wu's makes this situation not better.

Sometimes I manage to get some Asteroids tasks but it is not consistent. Then I see the message that Project has no tasks available. I don't like having idle CPU and GPU when they cost $$s to rent regardless of if they crunch work or not.

I agree ban Asteroids from Sprints.

Yes, I just saw this issue on the Asteroids server page:

Hopefully, members have enough tasks in their respective bunkers and that the server will be reloaded with new tasks in due course...either failed tasks that are resent or new tasks will be created soon to keep everyone happy.

Tim, I read your reply. Thanks for your efforts in trying to run the Sprints.

Unfortunately, I will have to pull out of this particular sprint as I cannot get a reliable supply of Asteroids tasks for either my local machines or those I hire from the cloud. In the former case its a waste of my electricity at AUD$0.54 per kWh. In the latter case it is a huge opportunity cost where the cloud machines could be working constantly at PrimeGrid.

Hope the next sprint is engaged with a better run project.

My 4 hosts went out of work between yesterday afternoon and midnight, this morning I realized the one I'm renting from vast.ai (best cost effective / cheap for short time rent option for me by the way) that had been having the best stock was actually dry since midnight and doing nothing (for the same cost, I didn't think about adding a spare project), so I decided to stop it and save a few buck, at the moment it seems the sprint is over for me (none of the remaining 3 host I have can get any work).

But this is absolutely not against you Timbo, on the contrary, this is a project issue.

Asteroids may not be good for sprints but sprints are good for Asteroids as we eating a whole batch of WUs within one weekend )

The project for Sprint #12 has been randomly selected.

Once this Sprint has concluded, and shortly afterwards, the promotion/relegation process will take place, so the more BOINC credits earned during Sprint #12 will give you more chance of being promoted or avoiding relegation !!

So, this is your last chance to boost your BOINC credits (before the re-allocation of Teams and Members) and support your Team and your own individual placing (if you have registered).

Hi all

There is now an approx 3 week break until the next FB weekend, which takes place from:

2025-08-28 15:00 UTC - 2025-08-31 15:00 UTC

Plenty of time for Teams and Members to plan their involvement over the last 10 Sprints and to see if they can muster some extra "firepower" to propel themselves and their Team higher up the League tables.

And if any new Teams or Members can be convinced to join, then please share the URL for the Team/Member registration page:

I cannot monitor new Team or Member requests, but I do make a manual check every week.
