Well, of course - if people are enjoying themselves on holiday with family and/or friends then BOINC should not be the first priority.

But maybe some of the clever people can use a remote login program like AnyDesk and to then select the Sprint project on their host machine(s) so they can earn BOINC credits while they are "chillaxin" somewhere?

Hi all

Can anyone help me to configure BOINC Manager to run the SRBase "LL - dc" tasks?

I found the code (on the SRBase forum) here:

that needs to be added to the SRBase project app_config.xml, which seems to be:

<app_config>
<app_version>
<app_name>ll-dc</app_name>
<plan_class>opencl_nvidia_200</plan_class>
<cmdline>--passthrough_child -use -NO_ASM</cmdline>
</app_version>
</app_config>

But after adding this and then restarting BOINC Manager, it still gives Computation errors in about 3 seconds?

Anyone offer any guidance on this - the GPU is a NVidia RTX 2080

I am that one using Anydesk
Should use some better solution instead of manual control. Assigning all machines to a sprint project takes near 40 minutes for me. The family is not happy with that. And now I am to drive them to a grill place and then I should leave to my office to open some windows (physical not software ones) and to find one more GPU to same myself from 15th place obscurity Of cource I am not that fanatic. Still have some work to do, there are a couple of orders were delayed because of the sprint preparations... Oh, no. I am definitely that fanatic

Regarding LL - dc, I'd rather stick to the TF project for a sprint. Much more stable for now. Your errors maybe caused by a driver if it is not up to date. The latest version is 616.64 came out two days ago.

Yup - I use AnyDesk as well and it serves a purpose, though I was barred from using it for a short time, as the software developers (who clearly monitor how much data travel across each link), assumed I was a Professional User and that I should pay for a full Pro User licence. I contacted them and advised the I only used it as a BOINC volunteer so as to control a remote PC so I could switch tasks and projects. After that, they never caused me problems !

Of course there are some alternative BOINC Managers you could try out that can remotely connect to your farm of hosts, directly. from within a BOINC Mananger type interface - so all your hosts are visible in the one program?

Yup - I had already allowed TF tasks but none were forthcoming. And LL-DC is a recent app, so maybe it is still in development.

I'll need to check out my NVidia driver version, but I'm pretty sure it is quite old.

During that sprint LL-dc ran perfectly on the vast.ai RTX 4070 Ti that I rented, without any specific configuration. It takes much longer than TF to complete (9h30), but don't pay attention to the 100% completed (= ignore it), it never failed for me. Exact same ratio of credit/time than TF.
